Richard and Anne Kenyon have decided to ‘retire’ from running Beekeeping Supply Sales from their home at Burnsmead Farm at Little Urswick and have passed the baton (should this be ‘the hive tool’) to Julia and Martin. The Kenyons are friends to many of us and have always welcomed us to their home and provided sound advice to new and experienced beekeepers alike, we shall miss calling on them to buy our beekeeping equipment. Richard has been running down stock while we have been trying to find somewhere to store and run the business from. However he sold out of foundation this week and Thorne’s agreed to us taking over so we have made the decision to go ahead before we have got ourselves organised. For the moment we shall run the business from Heather Bank House but happily rescue anyone from travelling down our track by either getting your order to you or offering you a lift to the house. Richard and Anne are happy to hold some of our stock for beekeepers to collect if Ulverston is nearer to them. A major and urgent clear out of our garage lies ahead and we shall collect our first order from Thorne’s at the beginning of June. We also plan to supply polystyrene hives if we can negotiate this with one of the UK suppliers. We hope we can follow in Richard and Anne’s footsteps and support beekeepers.
